Examples of Configurations

To help you select a sound system, here are some examples of configurations that will provide you the true sound of movie soundtracks, and also give you the most satisfaction on musical programs.

All of these sound systems-except the 2.1- are designed according to the Congard Code, an advanced approach to maximise the impact of the low-frequency sound.

Please note: These configurations are only given as examples. We can create any configuration to match your specific needs

The available loudness is to be up to 105 dB continuous for each front loudspeaker at the listening position, which is exceeding the usual requirement (105 dB peak, not continuous), hence providing an appreciable headroom.

In rooms that are well suited to Home Theater, the reverberation is minimum, meaning that most what you hear is direct sound. Its level decreases with the distance to the loudspeaker, so we have classified the configurations according to the distance between the main seats row and the screen.

You can modify these configurations; they are only examples of what will definitely work. If you need advice for a personalised configuration and/or their implementation, please feel free to contact us directly.

  • Short distance

    Up to 3m (10’)

    These configurations are using the Vertex 1 as front loudspeakers, and the same as surround and ceiling in 3D audio.
    Recommended when the distance from the main seats to the screen is up to 3m, corresponding to screens up to 280 cm base width in 2.35 A.R. or 250 cm in 16/9 A.R.

  • 3D Audio 7.1.4

    This configuration provides a full scale 3D audio experience with a relatively simple layout. For screens up to 280 cm base width, it will give you the ultimate results.

    This configuration is the first 3D audio implementation, and provides already a really immersive experience on a small budget.

  • Medium distance

    Up to 5m (17’)

    These configurations are using the Vertex 2 as front loudspeakers, and Vertex 1 as surround and ceiling in 3D audio.
    Recommended when the distance from the main seats to the screen is up to 5 m, corresponding to screens up to 450 cm base width in 2.35 A.R. or 380 cm in 16/9 A.R.

  • 3D Audio 9.1.6

    This configuration is the ultimate audio implementation for this range of distances and provides the real experience in most rooms.

    This configuration provide the same level of entertainment as the Congard Code one if the room acoustics is already well designed and exempt from standing waves.

    This is a budget-oriented configuration for this range of distances. It provides a sound base for an enjoyable experience, and can be easily incremented after its first installation.

  • Long distance

    Beyond 5 m (>17’)

    These configurations are using the Vertex 3 as front loudspeakers, the Vertex 2 as surround and Vertex 1 as ceiling loudspeakers in 3D audio.
    Recommended when the distance from the main seats to the screen is longer than 5 m, corresponding to screens of at least 450 cm base width cm base width.

  • 3D Audio 17.1.10

    This incredible design has been requested once by a client. It provides the most versatile and sophisticated approach to immersive sound, with 5 front channels and 4 LFE subwoofers.
    
Please note that the rear Raijuu 1 subwoofers are Bass Extensions for the surround channels, and do not carry any LFE signal.
